The vocals are Vedderesque gobbledygook, the music rips off Silverchair’s “Tomorrow,” a song literally written by a 15-year-old, and the lyrics are straight outta Bible study. There’s a place for bands like Creed, but it shouldn’t have been the same place that was created a decade earlier to champion artists like R.E.M, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Now that’s what I call my own prison.
